Located in Melrose, Johannesburg, these two buildings together gave them more than 2000 square metres of space and 3 stories high, including the basement, this is a majestic home.
The key to the brief was great functionality and ease of use. Whether entertaining family and friends or relaxing during the week, the home automation system needed the ability to create the experience with a single button, but then still offer the ability to customise the settings ‘on the fly’.

The client had a strong vision for the design and function of their new home, so it was important that the integrated technology had a clean and contemporary appearance. They wanted one centralised AV and control system that would tie together lighting, multi-room audio, surround sound , windows, security, and more for fast and easy control.

We provided a single platform that united all aspects of control into one user interface. The client being big Apple users used the Crestron app on their iPhones or iPads devices allowing them to set scenes for daily routines or quickly set up any area in their home for entertainment. Crestron DM NVX AV-over-IP technology allows the homeowners to distribute different audio and video sources to different zones throughout the house. This extended to the 2 lounges each with 5.1 surround sound systems. While entertaining, the is also able to distribute audio to any one of their 18 audio zones both inside and outside of the house on one customised audio dashboard page.

The alarm system was also successfully integrated so the client could automate thi as far as possible. We were also able to tie in security cameras with the rest of their home system. The system also manages all the high level motorised windows for them to be conveniently controlled. The water features are also automated on a different schedule for weekdays to weekends and public holidays.

Our client made full use of the technology and the ability to customise and design the control that seamlessly blends with their lifestyle.
