About Us

Sun International’s Times Square Casino covering 10,0000m2 was designed to push the envelope of what is possible in the high-tech building technology space (BTS). With over 800 zones of lighting channels, all dimmable and with colour mixing, this was to be the ‘mothership’. TRIAC was selected as the only company with the necessary technical expertise and experience to pull this off.

PROJECT FEATURES

THE PROFESSIONAL TEAM

The interior Designers intention was for the lighting effect and colour synchronisation continuously changing to evoke a feeling playfulness that would transport you to a different world of gaming and fun.

The installation consists of a series of suspended geometric matrices of LED channels forming patterns of light, with a mesh of fibre optic lighting hanging above the centre bar area on both floors. The use of geometric patterns of light and colour all sequencing together successfully creates the required dramatic effect. A layer of low glare task downlights ensure the correct light levels are attained over the gaming tables, and strategically placed mirrors LED lamps create infinity tunnels of light.

Lighting control was central to the success of the project, not only achieve th desired lighting effects but also the required energy efficiency. The system cycles through 26 scenes each day to create the chosen spectrum with an extended cross-fade time between scenes for a smooth and seamless transition.

The system was also interfaced with the casino’s main control system to create special effects for special occasions and events. The system also extends to incorporate the lighting around the periphery, including restaurants, to ensure these light levels are maintained and controlled to benefit the tenants while complementing the casino floor
